A supergreen and one well worth getting to know and grow yourself. A member of the brassica family which includes broccoli and cabbage mizuna is high in many nutrients including vitamins A, C, folate and K, as well as antioxidants including lutein.

Buying tips

Sometimes hard to find in the shops, better to grow your own over the winter. Choose fresh vibrant red and green leaves that are not wilting.

Storage tips

Store in a sealed bag in the fridge. Use within a couple of days.

Cooking tips

Prep:

Rinse leaves and enjoy raw or cooked.

Raw: rinse leaves and use in seasonal salads for a bit of colour and flavour.

Waste reduction tips

Grow your own and pick fresh to preserve freshness and nutrition, and reduce salad bag waste. Easy to grow and cold tolerant so good over the winter when not much else is growing.
